GentleWaves or LED Photomodulation is the interaction of light delivered through Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) to activate cells causing them to produce collagen or multiply. The main benefit is a reduction in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots and scars. In addition, the treatments are pain free with no downtime at all.
Typically treatments are spread over a couple of weeks or a few months. The number of treatments and the treatment times will vary depending on the problem being treated, the amount of surface area treated and the area treated. Since the results are progressive, you will notice more correction with each treatment. As full correction approaches, treatment intervals can be expanded to three to six month intervals. Since the skin continues to age, the maintenance treatments will be required.
