The Science of Rejuvenation
PRP, PRFM, and exosome treatment are all great ways to get impressive results using natural substances.
PRP is your blood, only better. PRP therapy uses a concentration of your own platelets to induce recovery, regrowth, and repair, allowing for accelerated healing at the point of injection. PRP has many medical and aesthetic applications, including injury healing and skin rejuvenation. PRP injections can stimulate skin smoothing, collagen growth, and overall younger-looking skin. Sometimes, PRP infusion follows microneedling. It’s a great way to revitalize your skin with no downtime at all.
PRFM is a more advanced version of PRP. With PRFM, your own blood creates a fibrin matrix. The matrix functions like a 3D scaffold that retains your platelets in the original injection area. That leads to prolonged growth factor release. As with PRP, PRFM is great for all types of anti-aging. Because the PRFM keeps the growth factors in one place, it can give you longer-lasting results than PRP treatment.
Skin Deep Medical Spa also offers exosome treatment, which stimulates collagen, expedites healing, and aids in tissue repair. It involves the use of exosomes, small extracellular vesicles derived from stem cells, for rejuvenating the skin, reducing signs of aging, and promoting hair growth. These exosomes contain cytokines, growth factors, and other signaling molecules that stimulate cellular regeneration and tissue repair.
Meet Your Perfect Match
Below, we dive into some of the key benefits of PRP, PRFM, and exosome therapy. Your Skin Deep aesthetic specialist can help you design a treatment plan that incorporates the best approaches for your specific needs.
Anti-Aging: Reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars.
Skin Rejuvenation: Enhances overall skin radiance and promotes a youthful appearance.
Hair Growth Stimulation: Stimulates hair follicles, promoting hair growth and improving hair thickness and density.
Under-Eye Treatment: Addresses concerns like dark circles, under-eye puffiness, and hollowing
Scar Reduction: Improves the appearance of scars, including acne scars, surgical scars, and stretch marks.
Skin Brightening: Exosomes help regulate melanin production and distribution, making exosome therapy particularly effective for reducing hyperpigmentation and promoting a more even skin tone.
Your Personalized Skin Serum
PRP and PRFM creation start the same way, with a small blood sample that’s similar to any normal blood testing. After that, the process diverges.
To make PRP, your specialist adds an anticoagulant to your blood and places it in an advanced centrifuge. Following the first centrifuge, your specialist aspirates the blood and transfers it to another tube with no anticoagulant. After another trip through the centrifuge, you get three layers of platelets. These platelets are combined with bovine thrombin and calcium chloride to create the PRP concentrate.
To make PRFM, your Skin Deep Medical Spa specialist doesn’t use any coagulant or other additives. They immediately centrifuge your blood. PRFM centrifuge requires a slower speed because it preserves a natural fibrin clot within the platelets. This fibrin clot is enormously valuable for generating maximum growth factors. The processes for PRP and PRFM are very different, but for you as a patient, the experience is very much the same. Both require only a small amount of blood from you, and both treatments are minimally invasive and easy.
Exosomes used in exosome therapy are typically derived from donated mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), meaning no blood sample is needed for this treatment. These MSCs are cultured in laboratory settings, and as they grow and proliferate, they release exosomes. The resulting solution is processed and purified to isolate the exosomes for therapeutic use.
PRP, PRFM, and exosome therapy are typically administered via a series of minimally invasive injections strategically placed to target your specific aesthetic goals. They may also be applied as a serum following a microneedling treatment when the skin is primed for deep absorption, maximizing the results of both treatments. Most people benefit from a series of treatment sessions spaced several weeks apart to reap these therapies’ maximum rejuvenating benefits.
Simply Renewed
Aftercare following injections of PRP, PRFM, or exosomes is minimal. You can expect some mild tenderness, redness, or swelling where the injections were placed. These side effects are transient and tend to pass in a few days. Avoiding excess heat, strenuous exercise, and harsh topical products promotes the best healing and results. Your Skin Deep aesthetic specialist will review your aftercare instructions with you. We are always available to discuss questions or concerns between visits, ensuring the best possible outcome from your treatment.

Many people benefit from a series of three to four PRP sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart, to achieve optimal results in cosmetic treatments. These sessions allow for collagen remodeling and the full effects of each treatment to develop. However, each individual’s treatment plan is different, based on their individual needs, goals, and preferences. After the initial series, maintenance treatments every six to twelve months may be advised to sustain results.
Mild pain or discomfort at the injection sites is common during and after the procedure. This typically resolves within a few days. Some individuals may also experience mild bruising, swelling, or redness at the injection sites.
Yes, PRP makes an excellent complement to many other cosmetic procedures, especially microneedling. PRP may also be combined with dermal fillers, laser therapy, or chemical peels. Your Skin Deep provider can assess your needs and recommend a customized treatment plan that suits your needs and preferences.
