The active ingredient in Kybella is deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of fat.

How many Kybella treatments will I need?

We will help you determine how many treatments you will need based on the amount and distribution of your submental fat and your personal goals. Up to 6 treatments may be administered, spaced no less than one month apart.

What can I expect after my Kybella treatment?

For most patients, downtime most commonly occurred after the first treatment and was less common for subsequent treatments. You should be able to resume your normal daily activities, but swelling in the treatment area is common. Bruising, numbness and redness may also occur in the treatment area.

Kybella Frequently Asked Questions

The results of Kybella are permanent. Once the fat cells are destroyed and removed, they do not regenerate.

Some temporary swelling, redness, or numbness in the treated area is common but typically resolves within a few days to a week.
